It's best to use "holed" as a keyword, or you'll get every auction that says "this would fill a hole in your collection"!

The words "Worm" and "Pooping" in the same title. Betcha could search eBay for the next ten years with those keywords and not get another hit. image

Yep. You betcha. That's a well-known note because of that. I think it was some sort of commentary on the value of the currency at the time in Germany?

I do "holed" and "hole" because some that say "hole" don't pop up on a "holed" search.

    BTW- I see you won the 1827 SQ2 !

Exactly what I do. You should also try "pierced" and "touchpiece", which are usually used in conjunction with hammered English material. (You won't get many hits with those, but if you wanna cover the bases, you should check them from time to time.)

So I won the Bust half, eh? Cool. My holey collection of them is growing.

It's hard to read the Fraktur script, but the note below the donkey does indeed say that if nothing else is available, you can use worthless papermoney for your 'necessary business'. image

  • Be careful doin a hole search youll get in trouble

Another search term which will yield some results for holed coins is "pierced". I've found some sellers, especially British ones, who use this term all the time.

It would have been a true classic if the owner had a slightly different name...

Yes, it is possible that these little papers were used for this kind of "business" image

    En Isel, dei Dukaten schitt.
    Diän hett wey Paderbüörnsken nit.
Doch gift et Isels genaug in der Welt.

This is a funny little rhyme, written in the local slang of the people in Paderborn.

We don`t have a donkey that can crap ducats.
But there are enough donkeys in the world, that crap on papermoney.
