  • I value them more, don't know about the market. Problem is, PCGS won't ID them and/or put that on the label.

Can you back out on the D a couples time for a clearer look, rpm should still be visible. Those markers are common on many quarter rpm's, that's where die cracks occurred almost every year, as you can note on other CONECA rpm listings.

I find it interesting/frustrating that rpm's are sometimes quite rare with 1, 2 or only a handful known, but the price does not reflect that because few people care. A good publicity splash like the extra leaves would help.

It is Hard to scan a toned coin. image
  • Now its clear, I see it. Good for you, a high quality quarter with an ID'd rpm and it's toned. It's all good, Dave.

  • Better, is clearer, not noticeable enough to be listed IMO. The ones listed may take up to 7x to see, but are then pretty overt. I have submitted many more doubled dies to CONECA that have been rejected than approved, and they are rejected for being too minor according to James Wiles (Dr Wiles, are you on here by the way? Come out, come out if you are, we need to get some variety stuff flowing in this sea of Barber and Seated coin mania). Still cool to find though. Big problem, Dave, is no pictures on CONECA site. Don't know why, they have lots of images, especially rpm's from all the published books. Maybe the CONECA Board members who do frequent this site, like Sean and Jason and who knows who else, can put a bug in James Wiles' ear.
