I am going Saturday afternoon. It's a good show for vintage cards, low end wax cheaply and probably live autographs if you like all the 80's Dodgers! Are the horses running at the track this weekend though? That makes parking a pain!
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!
I like the show, but it's the same dealers each time. After a few shows, I realized that I was looking at the same vintage cards over and over again. Guess they sell enough each time to cover the table fees. Too bad they won't let the Playmaters comeback anymore!!!!! That show was awesome!!

I went to the show from 4 to 7:30. A few thoughts:
-Last year, a vintage wax pack run was mentioned at this show ($100K plus for the entire lot, including '48 Leaf, rare Bowman packs, etc). I'm not sure if this was the same dealer, but there was something very similar on display in the front. He had '52 Topps, '55, through the 60's (all GAI graded). Plus 60's football, 61/62 Fleer basketball. The nicest packs at the show by far.
-Speaking of wax, there was very little from the 70's or 80's. There were a few '78 Topps racks, a '79 Topps tray, and a handful of other late 70's and early 80's wax. Even something like '84 Donruss was rare. 98% of the wax was modern.
-Deals were out there, but you had to look (I picked up a Star Co. Crunch and Munch Jordan for about $75 off retail). Alot of stuff was overpriced though (Cards marked 50% - 80% off beckett when they are really vg or ex)
-I also got my first look at an SCD in a long time when they were handing them out at the door. 66 pages!! Oh brother....
I recall the pack run dealer also. Someone asked him if would sell a certain year pack, the guy said no. The buyer was kinda pissed, but I guess he has a rather rare item, so why break it up and be without a certain year. Not good to hear about the VG being priced high. Guess I better take the microscope!

I went sat afternoon. Maybe around 2pm, the autograph people were gone at that point. I was looking for some low end 1935 National Chicle Football. One dealer had a Knute Rockne GAI 7, and that was it. There were a lot of guys buying and selling 1950's baseball. Nothing too exciting, I got some cheap non-sports sets out on the patio. Seemed to be less people selling wax this time around.

I found some great vintage nonsports at Bob Marcy's table. He's got some great stuff.
Most of the vintage sports cards I was looking at were full book. I was there mostly for the comraderie and that was very satisfying. I leave most of my buying to ebay.

yeah that one guy did have a lot of vintage non-sports cards. I asked him if had any vintage football, and the answer was no. He seemed to be a pretty cool, compared to the other guy there selling the horrors of war set. He brings the set to every show. I did notice that some dealers were dropping their prices on vintage sets? Anyone bought a complete vintage set a show????????
