Anybody know what this could be?

I have an 1878P Morgan Dollar what appears to be a late die state. There is metal in several areas on both sides of the coin around the inside of the denticles. Other than metal debris, does anyone have any idea of what this might be?

    Maybe some loose chunks of metal shavings on the die?image
