And yet he can READ the 100K yen in japanese,but not the rest,,,, does seem odd unless it's HOT

Well don't worry, I won't be bidding against you on that one. Can't help wondering what the seller is trying to hide with those pictures.

Askari - that oban is a little pricey considering the way the ink is starting to flake off, especially near the bottom.

But at least it's from a highly reputable seller.

That one is a little scary...the Showa 61 is one that has been counterfeited. I'm still holding out for a proof (Showa 62) in the original mint packaging ...it'll be a long wait I'm sure. That pesky mortgage keeps getting in the way of my shopping, not to mention I just haven't seen one since I left Japan.

Sent him an email and he updated the listing with Authenticity and refund info. He says it's real
