A question about "S" mint & MS66 30's walkers

From what I have read the 40's walkers(40S, 41S, 42S, 43S, etc) were more than not poorly struck coins in general and thus the high prices for them in MS65 and above condition. Does this also apply to the 30's "S" walkers as they too pull in a premium compared to the others in high grades? And on the subject.... is there any kind of cut-off year where the mints had the die process down to where the details became clear? I don't think I've seen any(or very few) 1930's MS66 walkers with a clear separation on the left hand thumb or strong sun light rays like those seen in the 40's.

Bgrice: Your question seems to contradict itself. The S mint 30's were better struck than the S mint of the first half of the 40's.

From an analysis point of view, there were few S mint marks in the 30's!!!!!!

None until the 33-S, probably the best struck of the 30's. They come nice. But then again they had a 4 year rest since 1929 !!!!!!!

    34-S 35-S so-so.

    36-S 37-S a little better

    1938, another year of rest!

39-S came back nicely from a needed year of rest.

40-S bam! what the heck happened? Atrocious. They sure needed another year year of rest and the rest is history!

I am surprised no one else had any comments.
