I found this R-4 1836 on ebay for about $45- it's been cleaned at some point in the distant past, but has retoned nicely. Usually I try to stick with bust halves that have XF-AU detail, but this one I didn't want to pass up. I wish my reverse photo could show more detail, but there's some awesome die cracks due to the late die state. One die crack starts from the rim into the middle arrowhead, and then into the right wing- then from the top of the right wing into the scroll above. Then another die crack goes from the right wing into the "c" of America- and some other cool die cracks from some of the reverse letters into the rim. Where else can you find a very scarce (from 80-200 examples estimated to still exist) coin with nice eye appeal for $45?
