Need advice re submitting to PCGS vs conserving at NCS

After hearing about my experience with Employee A and his gold dollar, Employee B shows up and says he too has a coin and hands me this $3 wrapped in a hanky:
Its an 1874. I'm not a gold expert, but to me it looks genuine, AU58ish to as high as MS64 or even 5 on a good day at NGC. Maybe.
It does have a couple of small red flecks from having been stored, apparently, in a red leather puch for 100 years.
I was planning to submit it to PCGS, but now I'm concerned that the red flecks need to be addressed by NCS first.
Would PCGS BB this coin? Could NCS help it?

Did your employees somehow get a copy of my wantlist?
<< <i>AU 55-58. I agree with the NCS treatment and might as well have NGC certify it while it is there.

The sad part of this story is that this guy also had an 1836 $2.5 in what was purported to be 'about the same grade'. I did not see that one before he sold it for too little to someone who knew exactly what it was.
Maybe you should hire me. I will bring in some slightly more interesting gold coins to you. And when these employee issues come up, I will be at your side to help you solve them.
