Just curious, I know if lmayer is bidding, your starting price is too low.
When syzygy3.14 bids, does it mean it will end up in a GAI or SGC holder, or the opposite Gai, sgc>PSA. Thoughts are appreciated!

Edited: I guess this guy synrgy3.14 is also the beloved slabbed on ebay, not the one here in the forums

I think you have the first part wrong.

Pardon my ignorance, but is syzygy3.14 also known on Ebay as 'slabbed'? Or did syzygy3.14 sell Slabbed the O'rourke before it went on Ebay as a PSA 8? Either way, Wolfbears post is alarming to say the least.
Sorry, I knew there was a post, I guess it it slbbed?

To bottom-feeders like me, he is an eBay god.
He places low ball bids on a gazillion eBay items and then resells what he wins at his website: Larry's Vintage Baseball Cards
He's a very good guy to deal with.
I sell quite frequently on ebay and lmayer has won quite a few cards from me. He bids quite regularly and even if he doesn’t win, he pushes the final price up a bit. Its like he keeps everything honest, or he won’t let anybody get anything dirt cheap. Lmayer pays quickly and is one of the best I’ve dealt with.

great guy and quite friendly...if he wins something from you he will pay fast and w/o any problems.
he will bid on probably 100's of auctions a day, always bidding low ball amounts, if he wins you can rest assured that your card sold as cheaply as possible.
the other guy its a disgrace to the hobby, known shill bidder, sheet cutter, etc, will crack out cards from all major companies (GAI, BGS, SGC PSA) and "fix" them and if his fixing gets out of control he will then send them to PRO.
Avoid any auctions from him even if they come from a respectable grader or even if they are low grade.

Larry Mayer is a great guy to deal with, either buying or selling.

Are you saying he doctors cards that aren't detected by the major graders?
How do you know are you aren't buying a card from another seller that didn't originally come from him?

Larry Mayer is in Southern California. He can be a bit slow to respond to initial emails at times, I suspect he works long hours. He has always been very quick to ship once an order is put in place.

All I can tell you is that IF Moser can alter cards and get them past the grading companies he's currently using, then he's the least of your worries. The PRO graded cards he used to list were hack jobs; I never saw any indication that he was a "master card doctor."
he will buy high grade examples of PSA/GAI/SGC 6 and 7's and try a few times for bump, or try to iron out a wrinkle , clean a stain.
nothing like bleaching, recoloring , building corners etc,
those are the cards he gets through all big 3 grading co.'s
when he buys low grade is to hack and send to PRO.
