thanks onlypsahockey!

thanks to you there's a lot more hockey threads on the board.
i enjoy reading them.
i ain't often right
but I've never been wrong
it seldom turns out the way
it does in the song
once in a while
you get shown the light
in the strangest of places
if you look at it right

hey, dan! i've heard of the existence of parkie sheets too, but the 8.5 centering makes me think that this one wasn't culled from a sheet. of course there's still the possibility of an undetected trim. maybe that's just my anti-bgs/bvg attitude coming through, but it is weird to see classic cards of this stature in beckett holders.

  • I had a feeling that it would be a Canadian seller. While I do not collect or submit to BVG/BGS they have made themselves a stronger presence in the Canadian market than PSA has. They have drop-off centre's ( bricks and mortar dealers or hobby distibutors ) in most major cities in the country. Most vintage cards I have seen in BVG holders originate from Canada. It would be great if PSA would make themselves more accessible to the Canadian market. I realize we have the dealer on the east coast , however for most of us that requires double shipping charges. I have a card store 5 minutes from my house that offers the BVG/BGS service and I have never submitted a card, if it was PSA service they we're offering I would certainly become a regular submitter.
Also, is it me or does that card look just not look right in that holder. imageBVG Sawchuk

  • You're right robstar - that holder and the mylar or whatever the extra plastic is just doesn't look good with the Parkie. Its no fun trying to break out a Beckett holder either.

    Fck you all and goodnight.

I thought this was how we ended hockey threads, eh?
  • I agree it looks terrible in that slab. I also doubt it's cut from a sheet. Wouldn't it pull better than a 7 on corners? Should be in a PSA holder.

    Side note...that 69 opc Orr 9 went off at 2,015.00 tonite....image

1 of 3 with a 600.00 SMR......a little over my head but it was fun to dream.

yeah, in the unlikely event i ever crack another bgs holder, i'm donning a hazmat suit. those things are deadly. shards of plastic flying all over the place!

anyway, i figured the guy probably just had it slabbed by bgs/bvg out of convenience. heck, dan here submits to psa through me (and i'm only what, 1,200 miles away) since it's such trouble for you poor canadians.
