I can't believe this company is still around. I never see any of their cards on Ebay anymore. CTA site. I bought a couple cards in the past. Most of their grades are about a point lower after cracking them open and submitting to PSA and I agree. The only thing I liked about CTA were their holders. Not too bulky, yet sturdy. The gold and silver flips gave it a nice look and they also include an inner soft sleeve with the card to prevent movement similar to BGS. The old blue flips when they first started are just plain ugly and I guess that's why they changed to the gold and silver later on. They charge $10 to grade a card which you can't even recoupe if you tried selling the card especially if it's modern. The misconception is that everyone thought their cards were graded by computers which is false because they use the phrase "computer generated report cards" are given to each card. I take them over most 2nd tier grading services but I would never send them anything.
Thanks. I see some 1955 Topps for sale CTA graded. Should I reasonably assume a CTA 7 would grade out at a PSA 6 then and make my purchasing decisions based on that?
