"A nod is as good as a wink to a blind man"
Needless to say, I was well pleased with the following:
1879 S MS65 (bought raw at MS63 money, but always thought it was better than that).
1880 S MS65 (bought in an NGC holder @ MS64 but thought it might grade up. I took it out of the NGC holder to put it in an album and then thought better of it after a while.)
1888 P MS65 (one I bought years ago (25 or more?) as an MS65 raw. It has long been one of my better satin lustre dollars - took it out of my raw year album thinking it was too nice to stay there, it's now part of my certified year set)
1898 O MS65 (One I also took from a NGC MS64 holder, but it was ugly toned on the obverse so I dipped it and it came alive!)
1904 O MS65 (This was one of my favorites for a long time and I always considered it a PL coin, but only a strong MS64. It didn't get the PL, but having it as a MS65 makes up for that. Guess it's just a strong semi PL now <grin> I bought this coin off a bid board from the same PCGS dealer almost 30 years ago for $15).
I hope this post wasn't too long for the forum.
Best wishes to all, Pete
