Thanks Herb. I've only shot a few coins other than Morgans, and if I had more here I could do some experimenting. I'll tell you what though, it sure has a steep learning curve.
Jpeg compression just killed those first images. The resolution just goes down the toilet. I know they take longer to download, but these markedly reduced images just arent getting the job done. The second one you posted is better. And just as an aside, which image is "easier" to look at, the compressed one or the uncompressed image I've posted?
Thanks Ken. The 44 is in an old PCGS rattle holder, MS65. It is really "dripping with luster". I snagged it on eBay a couple of years ago for $18, the seller had a scan where you couldn't make anything out. The 1940 is a PCGS MS66 (no bands).

As far as compression, I'm not a bandwidth hog and there is no way I'm going to post 700x700 images that are 700k.
Agreed, the subject matter is more difficult, although that cent was in a holder, and I'm no expert in pics.
