Interesting Bust Half

Here is an interesting Bust Half for those that collect this series. As you know PCGS does not put Overton Numbers on their slabs. So I will let you experts try your hand at attributing this coin. Who knows the Overton number on this 1830 Small O?

I am sure Dale does know, and yes Bill those letters do look rather large for an 1830.

It's an Overton 114, large letters reverse. Rarity 6. The only 1830 with the large letters, by the use of a reverse die from 1829(?).

Congrats Terry. The only other large letters 1830 I have seen is the ANACS coin that has been on the David Lawrence site for some time. You have a very special coin.

That's a great half dollar! Redbook variety, truly rare in any condition, looks to have a lot of detail. Not sure about the surfaces though

I lightened the scan up on the reverse a little so the lettering would show. The obverse and reverse look about the same.

This coin came through Alpine in Colorado. Dave had it in an XF 45 ICG Holder and was nice enough to submit it to PCGS for me, so I could use it in my Registry set.
