Refund for Excess Postage

I just received some Peace Dollars I purchased... Yes Raw on Ebay... The coins are great, but the best thisg was that the seller included two one dollar bills as overpayment for postage.... I didn't see his combined shipping charge statement.

His E-Bay ID is gp5000... That was really a nice thought.

I like sellers like that, thanks for sharing his I.D.

This reminded me to share my own good seller report - in this case I won a coin which was listed as a 1943-D but when it arrived was actually dated 1943-S. The seller not only refunded my full bid including postage, he added a few bucks to cover my costs to return the coin to him. His ebay userid is hallelujahgod, and his customer service ranks among the best I've encountered on eBay.

I've done that several times. Almost all were newbie Ebayers. I hope it builds loyalty.image

  • I've been on the receiving end of that scenario, and have also been the one who refunds. It's VERY good customer service / relations.

  • It is important to do the right thing. I goofed once and listed the wrong year for a coin that I was selling
(even though the scan was the correct coin.) I sent him the coin anyways and his money back.
(Got a positive feedback at least!)

  • I actually have a good seller to report. I bought a 1976 MS63 Ike on 1/25 and payed for it 1/26, yesterday I get an email from the seller asking where the payment is (very politely). I told him I used PayPal on 1/26 and if he needs verification I'll forward the receipt. He replies back that it was his mistake and he's refunding me the postage, it's only $3 but it was real classy of him. But not only is he refunding my postage but he tells me that if I haven't received the Ike by 2/19 he'll send me out an MS64. His ebay ID is hiyolow.

Just thought I'd share since you don't encounter sellers like this everyday on eBay.
