Fed ex return shipping options?

Is there a way to specify what Fed ex service you want psa to use when sending back cards? If not, what service do they usually use?

I know you need to create a Fed ex account ahead of time.

Anyone use Fed ex often?

  • Standard 2-day service or overnight. If I remember correctly, you have to contact them to get the overnight. They won't use Ground because they don't have the proper forms. I tried and they said no, course things may have changed since then. image

  • Hmmm, I figured they wouldn't want to do ground, but was hoping they would at least allow for the express saver 3 day.

Do you just leave the fedex shipping charges blank on the form, since you won't know the exact weight/fee, or do you have to fund your fedex online account with enough money ahead of time or something?

I use this return option all the time. I check 2-day on the form, and provide my account number in the space provided. FedEx bills my business credit card, but you would have to set up payment options with them directly.

There are some here who will tell you never get your cards shipped back FedEx - I like tracking the packages the whole way online, and the service is generally top notch. Of course, one day last year, the FedEx driver brought my signature required package to a different address, and left it there (the guy opened it up, and called me - an honest neighbor thank goodness!) but usually this process goes smoothly.

  • Ok, I just looked at a form again, and are more confused than ever. For one thing, how do you get a USPS Express Mail account number? I looked all over the USPS web site? For another thing do the options they list below apply to multiple return shipment methods or just Fedex?

    -Priority

    -Standard

    -2-Day

    -3-Day

    -Saturday Delivery? Yes No

You can have them send you packages back via USPS Priority Mail? But I still don't know how to get a USPS Express Mail account or what that has to do with priority mail. I assume the 2 or 3 day applies to Fedex but who knows, they really should have more instructions about this part of the form. What if for example I enter my Fedex account number and then pick 3-day out of those options?

Don't use Fedex if your items have a value of over $500 as that is the maximum coverage for sports collectables, including cards. Check out the link in my sig line.
  • Yah, which is one reason why I brought up the express/priority mail possibility.

That's interesting. I never knew that and I've been shipping through them. I guess it's o.k. to deliberately overcharge someone for insurance. I'll keep that in mind the next time I ship with a value greater than $100.00 (since I primarily use Fedex Ground). image
