1878-S Question

I have an 1878-S Morgan that is definately circulated, probably AU50-55....anyway, I recently got a good magnifier and took a good look at it....the S mint mark appears to be doubled. It almost looks like an S over another S, or perhaps something else. I've compared it to other S mark Morgans from 1879 and 1880 and it is definately different. I will try to take some pictures, if my camera is capable, but are there Double S mint marks in this year?
