My First Morgan Purchases Here: : "Grades Revealed"

I finally decided to join the majority that post here and own some Morgan $1's. These are the first two Morgan's I've bought. It seems to me that with the current "Toning" craze you can pick up non-toned Morgan's on the "Cheap"? Care to guess the grades and hit me with opinions. Thanks, Lee

Hard to tell with scans, but I'll guess. 65 on the 99-O, 64 on the 01-O.

I`m going out on a limb and take a chance that the 1899 - O is MS66 and the 1901 - O is MS64PL. I can`t tell if there are ticks on the jaw of the 1899 - O or not. Maybe and if so, it`s a MS65 in my eyes. Overall, the cheek looks bulbous enough to break into the MS66 barrier.

I'm going to go 65 on both, if there isn;t any hidden cheek marks. With a possible PL on the 1901 O.

I'm going to guess you got a nice pair of MS65s. I love ANACS. Funny you should
mention toned coins because some of the nicest toned Morgans are in ANACS
holders.
