Well, I got the Sylvania Daylight Plus Halofloods and tried them out on a couple of Silver Dollars. Here are the results:
Best results I have had so far. I used 3 bulbs.
Comment: The bulbs are hot, and they tend to heat up the copystand quickly. In fact it was starting to melt the flip that one of my coins was in. I would imagine if you took too long to image a coin or left the coin under the lights too long, it would not be good, even if in the slab!!

Today I received an email from a mutual friend/forum member, whose Barber Dimes you imaged last summer. He sold them with the help of your photography. Yesterday, he saw one of the most expensive up for auction on Heritage with a high reserve. He and I wondered why, with their hefty buyer/seller premiums, they have not hired someone to post digital photographs of the quality we routinely see from you (or Coinhusker1 and others) on this forum.
Great pics
What camera are you using ?

I still am not a fan of the photos that Heritage posts.

Nikon Coolpix 5400.
I want to echo K6's comments on the heat the Halofloods genereate -- be VERY CAREFUL, and turn off when not in use. And these are only 75w each. The ones mgood3 has (300w each?) must be like a furnace!!
Also, if you have coins in flips (non-PVC, of course), it is probably best to take the coin out is you are using these lights. The flip that I said "melted" in the first post actually "softened up" a bit but did not melt, but it permanetly bent the flip. Fortunately it did not damage the coin, but who knows if you leave it there too long.

I obviously have not tried them yet.
Seriously, those image are crystal clear and seem true-to-life. I caught my breath when that rainbow scrolled into sight.
Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."
