Wow what a card.

Look at this card, it is stunning. How often do you see a dead centered 56 Topps card with razor corners. And not an ounce of that ugly rough cut that every other 56 Topps card I have ever seen has.

    SWEET CARD! ...jay
  • Beautiful card. How on earth does a nearly fifty year old card stay in that condition?

  • It looks very nice. I wish Steve wouldn't enhance his scans with such saturation of color, however. It actually hurts the image a bit.

......... also, I always considered a gem mint card one with near perfect centering, this example clearly does not have that.
    Good for you.
  • The great thing about the Martin is that you can see exactly where the rough cut should have been if you compare it to the Berra. The card is actually a fraction of an inch smaller where the rough cut should have been. Probably what happened was the Martin was printed early in 56 when the blades were sharp and the Berra later in 56 when the Blades were dull.

I agree that the color saturation actually hurts the look of the card.

they do look nice though..i have a feeling they might even look better in person .

as a side note, there are some sellers like legacy that do a terrific job with scans.

i have seen two cards listed at the same time in the same grade, sell at completely different prices and i think its because of the scans.

if you have a nice card that its really beautiful above its technical grade, its really worth the time to do a good job with the scanning, i have seen $25 cards sell for $40 because of the good marketing job.

even if it takes 10 extra minutes, i think it might be worth it
