Okay...This is More Than Likely a Hugh POS, But I Bought it Anyway!

You'de think I'd know better, but it just might... just might turn out to be something kind of, sort of cool. This Seller uses a scanner and color is rarely shown well via that format. There's a small chance this Kennedy has some cool color.

So I Took a Big Chance.

Again, it's likely just a POS. We'll see. . .

Interesting gamble........ I've seen a few coins from them that I was tempted to bid on, but have never found one I was willing to pull the trigger on.... with this kennedy, I'm concerned about that unslightly blobbish discoloration on the cheek area.... image

Win or lose, I'll post photos of it when it arrives.
Might be dreadful pictures or a pleasant surprise.

  • That seller is the king of all frauds -- but you knew that. And FYI, he's "supracoin" on the boards here and has posted in the past, defending his practices -- and he even had some purported lawyer come on here and defend him, too.

In the name of all that is holy, when you get it, crack it out and please post a picture of it.

It already has turned--in the holder.

It might be butt ugly upon its arrival, but I can assure you, it didn't turn in the holder.

Looks like someone AT'ed it by putting it in the end of a vehicle tail pipe! image
  • Did you get this one yet?

    I did, today in fact.
I'll post photos over the weekend. It's pretty, with copper/orange color and blazing proof surfaces.

I've just posted ++feedback with the Seller. He sent three emails in the course of the trade and his packaging and shipment was excellent. The coin does look better than shown but is not worth the high bid I placed and won.

Send it to PCGS...I bet it comes back BB for questionable color. You got ripped, IMHO.image

  • Hugh POS....isn't he a movie actor or something?

Oh no. With coinmovers? That's like awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to Arafat.image

  • Why would a coin of that date be so heavily toned? And in general, why do some coins tone big time, when others from the very same year may be near what a new proof might look like. I mean, if a coin has that much heavy toning going on, doesn't it mean it was kept improperly, or exposed to fumes of some sort perhaps, or was in contact with paper products or PVC or something? And most experienced collectors pay premiums for coins that look similar to this, right? Why? I love color, too, but enlighten me.

I understand a beautifully toned Morgan, but what's the big draw with a toned 60's coin? Heck, put a torch to coins, then.

The auction was not shilled. There were no games involved in the course of bidding.
The photo (scan, really) was not better than the coin, in hand. He sent an email letting me know and thanking me for the Paypal payment. A follow up email informed me the coin had shipped. It arrived today, carefully packaged and fully insured and was as represented.

If I paid too much, that's on me, not the Seller.
No, in this case this Seller, like anyone else who treated the deal fairly and professionally, deserved and received postive feedback.

Now, regarding PCGS? I've seen color like this on Kennedys before. In fact, one was featured here, on this forum, not too long ago (in a PCGS holder). These coins will tone this shade.

And, regarding the value of these with this color, I agree- it's not for everyone.
(As far as price, this one has no hairlines or spotting and don't forget the variety.)
