anticipation

Is it normal to check my submission every 5 minutes in anticipation of my first grades?? Jeeze this is worse than Christmas when I was 10. O.K.maybe not that bad…

  • Hey at least you mustered up the courage to finally pull the trigger and send them in. I've been sitting on my voucher for 2 months now checking, double checking, triple checking my cards. At this rate I don't know if I'll ever get to submit them. image
  • Yeah i hear that. But I just figured i can only look at the cards so long. Afterall, im no grader and the first submission is more or less a learning event anyhow. Now my next submission im sure i'll fret for weeks on which cards to send in base on the knowledge i learned from this first submission.

Your first submission is definitely a learning experience - but, I remember checking the submission status in eager anticipation of the grades quite often. Now, I often forget - and when I do get the email from PSA, it's a nice surprise.

ctsoxfan has become jaded. I still check early and often.

For additional fun, when the grades finally do pop onto your screen, don't look at them.
Instead, print them out and cover them up. Then uncover them one at a time and savor each moment.

  • I've probably mailed in 20 submissions over the past 2+ years and it doesn't matter if the cards are valuable or not, I still check daily. I normally give the list a quick glance and then print out the group and go through each card slowly. It's one of the few things that takes me back to being a kid and awaiting Christmas day.

You'll get better and better at predicting the grades. I grade my cards before sending them in and write my grades down. I check my grades to what I actually get and almost always have a surprise or two, some good and some bad. I'm probably around 70% on the nose, 20% too low, and 10% too high with my predictions.

I agree 100% with Wolfbear. Cheap thrills for the easily entertained !

my nightly routine is 3 episodes of law and order while ebaying and constantly checking for my grades.

That's close to what I do except it's 3 hours of online poker, while opening up my mail, surfing ebay,
and checking for my grades. Hey, I got my "mechanical error" order that got shipped out today. 3 cards
that were mislabeled. Took 3 weeks.
