Was that Mike Tice in a Andy Reid disguise?

WTF? Can you say clock management? Sense of urgency? Two minute offense? Very dissapointing.

Kudos to Terell Owens. Like him or not, Very impresssive. Too bad he's a jerk. I'm glad the Vikings don't have anyone on their team like that.

Mcnaab was Mcnaab. Take your breath away with one play and make you wonder how he ever made it to the NFL with the next.

Belichek is Supercoach.

The Eagles hung tough. Congrats on a fine season.

Anyone here wanna call Fran Tarkenton a loser? How about Jim Kelly? How about Dan Marino? How about other great quarterbacks who never won a Super Bowl? How about John Elway who never won a Super Bowl until very late in his career? To state or imply that McNabb is a loser is rediculous. He has only completed his sixth year which is not long for an NFL quarterback. McNabb is a winner and will be winning a lot more before he is enshrined in Canton.

I agree. Jim Kelly is considered "not great" by many but if Norwood's kick is 3' to the left he is all of a sudden one of the all time greats because he won a Superbowl. The difference between Elway and Marino was one of their teams finally gave their qb a running game near the end of his career. Tarkenton just never had enough talent on his side of the ball to get past whoever they were playing in the Superbowl.

Mcnaab needs to be more consistent in my opinion to achieve greatness. He is amazing at times but he's just not an accurate passer. He showed some progress this year for sure but he still makes a lot of bad decisions and horrible throws.

Mcnabb better improve his playoff numbers if canton even thinks of him. so far in big games hes known to choke! thats a label that will stick until he wins one. and there window seems to be closing. reminds me of the raiders kept getting close made it lost and now stink!

eagles could suffer the superbowl hangover that most teams get like panthers raiders bucs pats there 2 year etc..
  • 1420sports1420sports Posts: 3,473 ✭✭✭
McNabb is far from Canton Kuhlman. I could care less about Canton. I have said for the past few seasons that McNabb is NEVER going to be the most accurate passer in the NFL. He will overthrow and will throw balls in the dirt. But he can run, and he can improvise, and he is one of the best QB's in the NFL.

Superbowl hangover will not happen. The Eagles have been the second best team in the NFL the past 5 seasons. Critics said they won't be back to the NFC Championship and they get there. This Eagles squad, barring injury, will be every bit as good next season. They have a healthy cap and a good system.

The past 5 seasons have been great, and I do not see any reason they will not be there next year.

Canton? Gimme a ring first .... which will happen.

Did someone just put McNad in the same group as Marino and Elway? Ahhh I think they might want to reconsider. That one isn't even close.
McNad will NEVER put up Marino stats, he just isn't that smart and never will be. What would Marino have done with Westbrook and
TO? I can bet you he would of beaten the Patsies and taken care of business.

McNad just plain looked stupid out there! Marino or Elway or Favre never ran the clcok down when they needed two scores. Marino was
throwing it to a bunch of nobodies and if they dropped it or pulled up laim he just didn't look their way ever again.

The Eagles are losers. They cakewalked all season and in my opinion won only one good game all season. They show up to the big game and
    just rolled over.

I think Donovan needs to watch some Brad Johnson film!! That sound you just hears was the window closing!

The truth stings, doesn't it? Still bitter over losing the big one?

Watch any footage of interviews with Tarkenton, or Marino, and they say they'd gladly trade every one of their passing stats for winning the super bowl. Yes, we think less of these great players for not winning it..whether or not you think that's fair, winning the big game is how truly great QB's are measured.

How great do we think of Montana leading his 49ers on drives late in the game for super bowl wins? How heroic do we think of Elway for giving everything he had to winning his back to back titles, after years of being denied? To sit there and say you don't think less of QBs who never won the big one, well, you are lying to yourself.

It must really, really suck as a McNabb backer to know that players such as Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson have rings while McNabb continues to throw away his chances.

His 4 picks WERE the reason the eagles lost. Hell, he threw picks on CONSECUTIVE plays....you'd have thought he would have been a bit more protective when the first one was called back on a flag....but nope, there it goes, floating into Patriot hands again.

The Eagles outplayed the Patriots, but the rookie mistakes McNabb made time and again were what cost them the game...and it doesn't matter how many yards are gained, it's the final score...and the Eagles were on the wrong side of the score.

All that matters is that the Eagles STILL are without a championship, and haven't won one since what, 1960?

The Eagles will get their Championship and when they do they will have earned that title. They will not be a "lightning in a bottle" team that wins one year and finishes under .500 the next two.

Stings? Nahh ... I do not put credence in what Stalin, Gemmy and now you say.

It would have been great for the Eagles to win no question about it. The Eagles will be back next year, and next year you and Joe can remember the Super Bowl win and watch Chuckies Bucs go 7-9.

How is it not the truth?

Chuckie and the Bucs have rings, McNabb and the Eagles don't. That's not opinion, that is fact.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,917 ✭✭✭✭✭
1420 - the thing that must scare the sh*t out of all the Eagles bashers here is that the Eagles will be better next season and hungrier. All of their core players will be back with possibly a few "negligible" starters that can be replaced who will sign with other teams. McNabb will be better, Owens will be better, Westbrook will be better, their secondary will be better, as well as other areas which will remain the same or get better. Sure I'm feeling lousy about the Super Bowl loss, but I'm feeling great about next season and the future.
  • kuhlmannkuhlmann Posts: 3,326 ✭✭
stevek remember cowboys 22 million under cap and 2 first round picks. they will be much better next year you can book the playoffs for the boys!

superbowl hangover could happen to the eagles!
  • joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
the way I see it, the NFC will be better and the eagles will not be able to roll like they did this season. Wash and the boys can 't possibly
be any worse than they were this year and maybe even the Giants will put up a fight!

You also have to remember you all got VERY lucky not to have any big injuries earkly in the year. You can't count on that every year, we all saw what
your team was made up when you had to start a few second stringers...the Rams made you look silly!

You all had everything presented to you on a silver platter this year but still couldn't get it done! Next year you are going to get punked and
the year after that you have to play in Tampa, so it doesn't get any better!!!

Chuckie is up right now as we speak making the bucs better! You can bet on that!

<< <i>McNabb will be better, Owens will be better, Westbrook will be better, their secondary will be better, as well as other areas which will remain the same or get better. >>

Just where do you think this is going to happen? Owens can't be much better than he was this year when he played, and McNabb had by farr his best year as a pro, and they still fell short.

They have a lot of cap room, but how many times have we seen teams attempt to buy a lot of talent only to fall short?
  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,917 ✭✭✭✭✭
I can't "complain" about the Eagles injuries this season. But they had injuries early in the season and during the preseason such as their starting running back, starting fullback, and starting right guard (who was a rookie and will be a monster talent - he was pancaking defensive players on almost every play during the preseason).

So be afraid of the Eagles next season - be very afraid!
  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,917 ✭✭✭✭✭
McNabb only just completed his sixth season - if you understand NFL football then you know that this is still "young" for an NFL quarterback. Owens will be in his second year under the Eagles system and he will get better because of that. The Eagles in my opinion have the finest salary cap management in football.

Hey Eagles bashers...don't worry about it - When the Eagles are destroying your teams next season - you can always switch channels on TV and watch soccer instead.
  • AxtellAxtell Posts: 10,037 ✭✭
The Eagles peaked this season...and for Eagle fans, that's a bad thing.

The Eagles are going to go out in a panick and sign a bunch of big dollar free agents. They will make the playoffs, but they won't gel like a team who's been together a while can.
  • 1420sports1420sports Posts: 3,473 ✭✭✭
The Eagles are going to go out in a panick and sign a bunch of big dollar free agents

Huh? With the exception of TO and Kearse (and who can argue those signings) when have the Eagles done that? Are you thinking of the Redskins?

The MAIN reason for the Eagles success (yes, success) is Joe Banner, Jeff Lurie and Andy Reid. These guys are the BEST in the business. They will let players go and get as good if not better replacement for a lot less.

The Eagles will not go after Alexander or any other big name free agent. I would like to see Jerry Porter in town, and that may happen.

The Eagles will be fine, so all the doubters and haters can have one more year of watching the Eagles at the top. Barring injury, they win the NFC East and will once again put up enough wins to be playing for home field advantage, which doesn't mean a whole lot looking at the last three years image

No worries here, and more confident than I was at the same time last year ...

Man you must really be a die hard fan to thank Andy Reid. He clearly let you down in the biggest game he or any of those players have
ever played in. He had no game plan and showed poor clock managment at the end of the game. He did appear to have that
"deer in the headlights" look a few times. There is clearly no one on that team who can step up and get people to win. no one on
offense and no one on defense and no one on the sideline.

I like Andy Reid but you have to admit that was a pathetic coaching job in the Superbowl.
