Any "wrapper" collector around?

Just curious on how you store them for safe keeping...does anybody make a sleeve/holder for them?

I have quite a few and don't know what to do with them.

Please let me know if anybody has any great ideas!

Take care,
Mark

    Hi Mark
I store them in large toploaders. Also, some guys like to refold them with some crap cards to make it look like a real pack.
I like storing them open since the folds will actually have more stress on them folded.

How about useing those photo album pages that have the clear sheet which you fold back and then place your pictures on, or in your case a wrapper down onto and then fold the clear sheet back.. stick it in a binder..

  • Thanks for the ideas...Right now, I've got all my sets in top loaders inside those giant shoe boxs w/lids. I was thinking about getting those large toploaders, placing the wrapper inside the lid within the set it belongs. Sort of a "master collection" idea. You know, like these are all the cards from that year and this is what the wrapper looked like as they sold from stores....So when you take off the lid, the wrapper will be under the lid (attached). Whatya think?

Stone are you using 4x6 loaders or 5x7? and yes, I want them unfolded.

    Thanks again,
    Mark

whatever you do do not create new folds! keep it flattened out or folded the way it came.
    Good for you.

I have the 9X11 top loaders - some of the wrappers I have are proofs, and they only fit in the larger ones - so I didn't want to have to purchase a bunch of different sizes. I just posted this one on the nonsport forum today.

  • Has anybody seen a 38 goudey wrapper? the sport king ones are always on ebay, but i've yet to see a single 38 wrapper anywhere.

top loaders and flat seem to be the prevailing thought for storage.

I put my wrappers at the front of my set (in pages) for that year in a single-pocket page. It makes a nice "Title Page" for the set.
  • I have always used single pocket large pages for the bigger wrappers and the smaller ones in two pocket pages. Mine have always been stored in notebooks togther as a collection of there own and not stored with the cards but whatever works best and you seem to consider it part of your card set so that makes sense. The nicer ones I have seen stored often are in the large single sheets with a black piece of contruction paper behind them. There is a 48 Bowman Bskt that is shown that way on eBay right now and looks like one I sold many years ago.
38 Goudey wrappers have always been one of the harder of the Goudey wrappers and certainly much harder than the 33's, 34's or 35's. There are two variations, one with six figures (action poses on the wrapper edges - three above and three below the center panel) and eight figures (where an additional one is on each side of the center panel). They usually go for between $400 and $500 in nice shape.

Wanted: Bell Brands FB and BB, Chiefs regionals especially those ugly milk cards, Coke caps, Topps and Fleer inserts and test issues from the 60's. 1981 FB Rack pack w/ Jan Stenerud on top.
  • I use all my wrappers as packing material for ebay sales. Of course, my oldest wrapper is probably a 1983 topps football one, but I mainly use the newer stuff I buy.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!
