Best Offers??

What is this? How do I make a best offer to someone? I've looked around eBay auctions for something that says 'make a best offer' on both completed auctions with no bids and current auctions but couldn't find anything like that... Educate me someone image

There was a message about this in your Ebay message box a few weeks ago, I think - but if you're like me, you rarely read those.

That said, I think it's an option for sellers to set their fixed listings at an outrageous price on the off-chance that they hook a sucker (ahem) uneducated buyer, and then take best offers on their items when they realize that suckers aren't biting.

I prefer selling my stuff by auction, and don't think I'll ever use this feature as a seller (as a buyer? Maybe...)

We are pleased to announce that Best Offer, a new option for sellers with Fixed Price listings, is now available. This often-requested feature gives sellers more flexibility when listing items in the Fixed Price format, allowing them to accept price-based offers from buyers before a listing ends. More information can be found in our original announcement directly below.
We have started a thread on the Seller Central discussion board for members to leave their feedback about Best Offer. To access that thread, please click here.

Sounds like it is eBays answer to auctions ending early and the transaction being completed outside of eBay, which results in them loosing their FVF % of the sell.
