Hello folks,
A colleague of mine just got back from a trip to Prague. He brought me a 2004 Czech Republic mintset. Following are the URLs -- I scanned at fairly hi-res in case you want to zoom in. Each file is like 900K.

Shep: Yes, the horse and rider on the 20K is very nice.
What's interesting is this: when the Czech Republic goes over to the Euro, what national design(s) will they choose? Maybe they will take the lion seen on most of the reverses here.
There is an interesting article about Irish coins in the latest "Coinage" -- the author mentions that when Ireland went over to the euro, they had to make a difficult choice: what national symbol goes on the reverse? Ireland chose the harp, as we know. But that means that they gave up all the cool animals they have portrayed over the years, like the suckling pig.

<< <i>Nice set, but I don't envy the common citizen who has to deal with such flatly struck coins after a couple of years.

It's not that bad and the coins do hold up pretty well, even the small aluminum ones. I was up there in 2003 and filled a lot of gaps.
