Advice with 1952 Wheaties cards

I've only just recently joined the message boards but in that short time I've noticed there are some really great members here with lots of knowledge they are willing to share. I could use some help with a small group of 1952 Wheaties cards I recently won. A few of the cards were cut so that the dark borders were left intact and the card borders have not been disturbed. Can anyone give me advice as to how best cut the cards so they get the best grades when I send them in to PSA for grading? They are only golf cards, but I would like to get the best grades possible and would very much appreciate the advice of those who know.

Please share your experiences.

Thanks,
Peter

Try to cut them as straight as possible still keeping the blue intact around the border. It should "frame" the card so to speak. The ones I have seen that have been graded the highest are cut in this manner. How about showing us some scans of what you recently won?

  • Hi Dave,

Great hearing from you. I just won the cards tonight so I won't have them for a week or so. I have a group of cards ready for PSA and figured I will hold off on sending them until these arrive.
