1988 Topps Nolan Ryan PSA 10 - For a $1,000??

1988 Topps Nolan Ryan PSA 10

This looks like a very ambitious auction.

Granted '88 Topps cards came with alot of problems, but there are mountains of them out there. A total population of 73 isn't much to go by.

More power to the seller if he can get his price!

I'll reserve comment on this one image
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

come on Mud.............if you want the coin you gotta at least spend the freakin 75 cents to supersize the ryan; and then lose the shipping cost. Keep this up and I'll have to 'post snipe' the good numbers on the Ryan thread.

I just looked at the bid history.........mertle has way too much time on his hands. Besides 2 years from now it will be a 1/73.

Do you know how many boxes of 88 Topps a grand could get you? I would say 200. That would get you 135 Ryan's, Ripken's, Glavine's, and everything else. I think you'd get more than a few 10s out of there. People are so lazy.

Whoa - you could have gotten $355.00 for a 1988 Topps card? And, you turned it down? C'mon mud - you know better than that, man!

It's a well known fact that 1988 Topps cards in very high grade are almost impossible to find, so I don't see why this is a problem. There are only a handful of highgrade 88 topps and if someone want the Ryan bad enough, $1,000 isn't too high an asking price in my opinion.

uh........Con..........uh, at some point either you or this thread will go bye-bye. Maybe both................

  • Selling this card for $355 would be like selling Googles stock for $200 a share or the NASDAQ when it was at 4,000.

It might go higher. It might go alot higher.

But do you really want to chance it and wait for the market to soften?

People can laugh all they want, but the population report on the 88 Topps Ryan doesn't lie. They're hard to find in ultra high grade condition and they should be priced accordingly.
