eBay enforcing the COPY in Title rule ( 1 DOWN, WHO'S NEXT? )

NOT! image

I have reported THIS SELLER five times now and eBay has done nothing. This seller consistently uses misleading titles, does not put "COPY" in his auction titles plus he is selling reproductions of coins that were not authorized by the issuing authority. All against eBay's own rules.

Please join me in bombarding eBay with complaints by going HERE and clicking on the link at the bottom of the page to report this abuser.

P.S. Here are his latest auctions numbers to report:

3956975694, 3956975697, 3956975699, 3956975701, 3956975702, 3956975704, 3956975705

Did he list them on UK eBay? and would it make a difference. I agree with you, this guy does this all the time.

    UK eBay rules:

    Counterfeit Currency and Stamps

UK law strictly prohibits the sale of counterfeit currency and stamps, and equipment designed to make these illegal products. These laws ban not only counterfeit paper money, but also counterfeit coins, bank notes, bonds, money orders and other securities. UK law also protects foreign currency and stamps from counterfeiters. Therefore, these counterfeit items may not be listed on eBay.

What about replica coins for collectors?Any "reproduction," "replica" or "copy" coin (UK or foreign) must be plainly and permanently marked with the word COPY.

Every single medal is a copy - actually a very bad copy, you know, the sort of thing you would put in the scrap metal bucket. I didn't notice the word "copy".

    Check his feedback.

  • Cosmic, I totally agree. I've reported him at least ten times - it really annoys me looking through listings and his crap turns up.

Maybe eBay actually did something. He has been listing 1 day auctions everyday of the same copy coin items for weeks. Today is the first day I do not see any new auctions.

I'm not well-versed with military decorations, but deco492's Pershing Rifles "medallion" is an obvious cast copy. You can still see some flashing on the rev. rim edge.

  • They are not copies or restrikes - no such coins ever existed. They are Fantasy pieces. What's the rule on Fantasy coins?

Good question lreneadler cause I sure don't know. I know I had to have someone point this out to me the first time I saw one of these fantasy coins. As a new collector I thought these were real pieces. IMHO I think anything that is not an authentic coin should be labled as such. But of course that's just my opinion. I mean if you truly want to be a collector it's always good to do your home work and know what you are looking at too I guessimage

MSD61 Those are modern pattern fantasy pieces which the seller is clearly stating right in his auction title

I'm glad that seller fixed the problem. Based on prior dealings, he is not a bad guy, really.
