Worth sending in?

I am new to Collectors Universe and am trying to decide which two coins I should send in for the freebie slabs. I had intended on sending in a 1913s type II. When I bought the coin, the scratches on the obverse did not appear too distracting. However when I imaged it, they really stand out. My question is how much of a hit will the coin take at PCGS?

I don't know the answer to your question for sure, but I think it might get body bagged for damage. Hopefully someone who knows more about submitting coins will chime in and give you a better answer.
Sorry for the negative opinion, but is it just that, my opinion. Otherwise, welcome.
I probably would not submit either. The coin will probably get slabbed, but net graded for the scratches. If it were me, however, I probably would not send it in (unless I needed it for registry purposes). I do not think that the coin will be worth more nor will it be more liquid in a PCGS holder. Just my opinion, seek others.
<< <i>Actually, the number may be 4. There were two flips in the kit and each can hold two coins. >>
The number of flips in the kit bears no relationship to the number of freebies. They just stick some in there and it'll be random. Also, the flips do have two pockets, but that is not for two coins. The coin goes in one pocket, the label with the submission info (inv and line #) goes in the other pocket.

I am assuming that there is not time limit on the submission. At least I have not been able to locate any in the documentation.

Time limit is one year, so it would expire on the anniversary date of your joining.

the wear pattern is inconsistent
the field looks rough
did you buy it at a local shop?
I would suggest paying and sending it to ANACS if you want it in plastic
they would net grade it if they felt the scrape is not from planchett
or send it back if it was not authentic
If it is a fake, will PCGS determine that before they "bodybag" a coin?
your coin could be real - but we have almost full horn on reverse and barely see liberty on obverse
hjere is a link to a Teletrade auction closing tonight
ANACS net graded 1913S

Russ,
Are you sure that one can't "roll over" the freebies from a previous year? I know that the membership is good for one year, but I've renewed and there is no expiration warning on the "complimentary" submittal form.
On another subject, has the PCGS changed their membership-level benefits? I joined at the gold level and the current Collectors Club, does not show any freebies at this level.
