Know anything about Ossie's Coin Shop in Allentown, PA?

The few times I went by it was at night & I just saw the sign out front. Today I was there during the day and figured I'd stop in. However,
as I drove up to it I could see it was empty with bare display cases all over. I assume it went out of business and isn't in the process of just
starting? Does anyone know if it moved to another location? This place is on Rt. 222 Northbound.

I was in Allentown and Quakertown in Nov. 04 and didn't see them listed in the phone book. Did find a guy set up at an inside flea market in Quakertown though. image

  • I don't know about his shop but I've seen him and his wife at Currency Shows and they are a very nice couple ... I love Ossie's stories ...

I don't know but maybe Ozzie doesn't leave much in his shop if he's at a show exhibiting ..

    just a thought ..

I guess I'll have to check back. It sure looked like the store was empty. I was really excited to check it out just to find it closed. image

  • Ossie operates two coin shops in Allentown. One is on 222 and the other is on Hamilton Blvd. I haven't been to the Hamliton Blvd shop yet. When I went to his shop on 222 the place was bare. On my visit the only business being conducted was dealer to dealer and Bullion. I also heard he winters in FL. while his kids run the shops here in PA.

Most insurance companies don't care for your business if you leave your inventory out all night. If they did, the premium would be quite unbearable.....image

Ossie is a long time dealer from Allentown that spends his winters in Florida. He now deals mostly in currency.

His daughter Linda now runs the store in Allentown, which deals in all areas of numismatics.

When Oz is in Allentown, he may be in the store, but it is only his northern office.

    Linda runs that business.

Ossie is a long time PNG member and Linda is now a member, as well.
PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows.
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Thanks for the info everyone. I will certainly have to try again and look for the Hamilton Blvd. location too. I guess I went by on an "off" day.
