Well, I couldn't let MrsSpud have all the fun today. Besides stopping at the Coin Shop where MrsSpud found the 1954 Proof sets, we also stopped by the flea market. We had never been to this flea market before. We found one guy selling coins. He was an oldtimer with lots of Morgans and circulated Franklins and Mercs as well as a fair amount of Proof coins. This time I got lucky and found some interesting Proof stuff while MrsSpud was busy going through some Mercs.
The dealer let me look through some of his sets and I picked out a nice 64 proof set with an AH. It is hard to tell whether or not a Cam is hiding uder the Cellophane, but it might be. I also picked up a nice looking 65 SMS that he had in a 2X2 that also may be a Cam. I also picked up a nice looking 67 Roosevelt SMS that is at least a Cam if not a Deep Cam that was also in a 2X2 and a 61 Franklin that looks like it might be a cameo also. The thing is, he only wanted regular non-Cam prices for all of them. He said that he always liked to pick out the Cams because people seemed to like them but that he was happy just making a little more than what he paid for them. He seems like he has been Cherry picking these for quite a while and thought they were no big deal. Attached are pics of the 65 Kennedy and the 64 AH still in its Cello. For the obverse of the 65 I put up 2 pics taken with different lighting because one showed the mirrors better and one shows the frost better. Anybody care to give their opinion on these? Thanks, in advance, for any replies and thanks for looking.
