Misleading eBay descriptions what do you think?

I just viewed an eBay listing for a 1975 Topps Mini baseball card #500 of Nolan Ryan. eBay description says its a PSA 9. When you view the auction it is actually a PSA 9 OC. The seller has the audacity to say the card books for $1,000 and that a PSA 9 OC sold for $700. Seller is listing this for the price of $400?
Seller appears to have made a few overrated remarks wouldn't you think? Any other opinions out there on this occasional occurance on eBay?

they'll miss it or at least they'll see the 9 on the holder
and the seller can fetch a little more off them. Obviously,
we all know what the qualifiers mean and agree the seller
is a an a-hole (at least I do) in his futile attempt to mislead.
"PSA 7 soandso...totally undergraded, should be an 8!!!"
and the infamous
"Only 1/2...with none graded higher!" when there are 1000 others.

Kinda shady, but goes to prove you have to study the entire description and the pic.
I let him know that like Bryan (EagleEyeKid) mentioned, I thought he was only trying to get a new collector to blind bid without looking at the full description. A cowardly, desperate and rather pathetic ploy used by very few eBay sellers. I let him know that he'd be lucky to get $50 for his card and that everyone knows what he's up to including himself.

To me that's like selling a Yugo by saying "If it was a Hummer, it would sell for $70k".
<< <i>One of the description lines that drives me nuts is "Beckett Value of $XX in mint condition" when the card is so trashed it's toilet paper.

Or more accurately, "The car is a Yugo. The book price of a Hummer is $70k." Even the most trusted dealers do this.

I know, and maybe that's why it drives me nuts. They are selling 'A' but then mention the going rate for 'B' when the two don't have anything in common.
You click in and then see the qualifyer. This wastes like 60 seconds of my life each time I get suckered.
This really bothers me... so many folks will show a card in ex, vg condition and quote "HB" High Book, beckett value etc and give the value of the NM/MT card...
It is completely misleading. Best case scenario for the seller is that they sucker someone.
Some people on these boards have made it their mission to email sellers like this. I just get too tired and many of the sellers do know better in the first place.
As an occassional seller, I have learned my lesson about hyping cards up- even when I believed they were undergraded. You invite returns and unhappy winners.
It's difficult for me to take an auction seriously or want to bid on a card that is listed PSA BGS SGC GAI 8... this spamming is equally as annoying.
The good news is that most of us know better...
A couple years ago, one guy just lost it... he was so annoyed that he listed a 1967 Maris like this: 1967 Topps Maris Yankees D-Bag Variation psa bgs sgc gai rare !!!
and in his sarcastic description he vilified these sellers and knocked us for letting it happen. The picture was a 67 maris with a goatee, sunglasses, smoking a joint... a hippie beatnick maris... The auction was quickly pulled for the profanity... but it is still one of the best laughs I have had in eBay.
