How much less do you pay for less than perfect stamps

I was wondering how much less do other people pay for stamps that have a short perf; especially for early 20th century or 19th century better US and/or foreign stamps? I know the "standard" for Unused/NG is usually at used prices, but wondered about the other conditions. I usually just see what the dealer is asking which is already marked down for the condition and ask if thats the best they can do.
