Hi Kevin That's actually not that bad. For me the problem is that I'm anal and a lot of the cards I pull get returned to Topps. I'm probably in the minority. One is going to wind up eating a lot of cards. Although, I don't remember having as much trouble with 01, 02 as I did with 03, 04?
How many did you return last year? Just curious. If you remember, I returned close to 200.
I have a bunch of 2001 sp extras and would offer anyone attempting a set free trading if they jump on something like this. I noticed that a box can be had for under 250. I like a case though because you are almost guarenteed to pull 4-5 autos and maybe a 52 Mays auto. I wonder if his reserve price is less than 230 a box.
I didn't bother sending in anything last year. What a waste I know. Hopefully topps has made the changes.
All I have to say on the Heritage topic is that I'm in. The 1956 set design is my favorite of those I never got a chance to collect as it was issued, and I am ready to tackle the master set this year. I think that I've left myself a big enough project to get caught up, but that's on down the road for now. I almost went into my local target and Toys r Us today looking for retail boxes left over from 04. I'm in a pretty small town, so I'm thinking there might be a chance there are some left, but who knows. I'm a tool.
Mudflap As a matter of fact, that's not a bad idea - when 2004 went live, I went to the Toys r us looking and found 4 boxes of 03 Heritage - so anything is possible.
On the Return Policy Return ANY card you don't like - heck ding it some more! Seriously, they don't check that closely since not too much stuff gets returned.
Two ways to return stuff:
1. Card for card replacement - you need to itemize the name, card number. Up to 25 per submission on the card for card replacement. Obviously, I recommend you use this one for star cards or expensive SP's - early on some can book for like 20-30 bucks! 2. "Random" replacement - just give them a total - send them in - do this for the commons - and they will return random cards.
Last year I returned 200 cards - all commons and got 45 SP's!!!! That's definitely worth the trouble.
I'll get the address for ya - reference. Also, I recommend spending the extra buck for insurance - that way they can't say they didn't get them. And lastly, this service is very fast - their customer service as gotten much better over the years with all the competition.

PS: they will ask you for the next submission to include the UPC as proof of purchase - just save it off your boxes that you purchase.

i'll pass on the 01's, the unopened boxes would be a great investment, but i know i would rip them. i have a master set and a second master set that is missing only a couple of SP's. 2001 was great for me, i did alot of hunting at toys r us and kmart, i had a great time.
I'll take one too of the 01 heritage from that guy. Looking foreward to pushing people out of the way at toys-r-us, walmart, and target in the next month!
