Express Level - Five Day Service... Late

I submitted a coin under the Five Day Express submission service while I was at the FUN show a few weeks ago. When I check the status, all it keeps telling me is that the coin was entered into their system on January 20th ( six days after I actually gave the coin to them for cross-over ). Be that as it may, counting the days that the coin was put into the system, its been twelve days and no word yet. ( This does not include weekends or MLK holiday ).

What is PCGS's policy on late submissions ? Will I get one submission on the Express Service for each day the coin is late arriving ?

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the other one hundred and thirteen coins I have sent in on Regular ( 15 day ) Service. They are due in three days.

I keep seeing their admission that the Economy Service is at sixty days, which seems to equate to sixty weeks.

Late this afternoon, I received a phone call - while I was with clients - from a representative from PCGS about my SLQ Pedigreed Set.

After discussing the placement of name(s) on the holders, I inquired about the coin that was on Express Service. He was a bit shocked that this coin wasn't processed by now.

When I inquired as to whether or not I qualified for another submission at the same level of service ( for each day this con was late ) he agreed that this was PCGS Policy.

Enough said for the moment. I expect to hear from PCGS ( I would expect by ) Monday.

    To be continued.

PS: As a side note, I also mentioned the 113 other coins that are due to be sent out on their 15 Day Regular Service, and I could audibly hear the "gulp", and said that this policy also applied to their Regular Service as well. Their "15 Day Regular Service" notification date is Thursday, February 10th. We'll see that develops !

Looks like my raw Buffalo Nickel and Barber Dime sets will get holdered sooner than I thought !!!!

The PCGS representative is to email me his findings ...I'll take it from there once I find out what's happening with this coin. It was a "cross-over" from an ANACS 55 coin ( NOT "net" graded ) .

There's a 5 day express level? Is that something that's only available at shows?

You get one free submission only, not one for every day the submission is late. The free submissions are up to the number of coins on the submission. One coin, one freebie.

Express Service is a Five Day service. ( Not just for shows ).

For each day its late, its one Express Service Submission. Yes, in this case, for one coin.
Right now, it looks like I've got seven Express Submissions coming. Not One express submission - regardless of the lateness of return . If that were the case, the coin could be 365 days late and you'd only get one free express submission.

I know that they are swamped with submissions, and their seven or eight graders are frantic with the amount of coins in for grading.

    Express is seven days.

    Wrong. You have one.

  • Yeah, it's per coin, and once it's late, that's it. One voucher.

    << <i>Guarantee Turnaround Policy

As of March 2004, PCGS's guarantee turnaround policy will be one like submission for each day late, up to the total number of coins submitted. >>

MY last 2 submissions were ten coins a piece on the reg service, both times they were 4 days late. I am going to keep sending regular because it's only costing me 18.00 a coinimage-------------------BigE

You can read into that gaurantee two different points of view.

One express submission for each day its late - up to the number of coins submitted.

Which also means that its only one free submission per Express Service's day's lateness.
Not seven free submissions each day a submission ( of seven coins ) is late .

It just doesn't add up to only get one free submission if the coin is 365 days late !

If that were the case, no one would ever put a coin in for express service.

Russ is not wrong in this case, you will get a single free submission for that level of service. Read the Terms any way you want, you're dealing with people who have been in the same situation and have been compensated via this guarentee before.

If a 10 coin express submission is late 1 day, you will get 1 free express submission certificate. If it's late 28 days, you will get 10 free express submission certificates - It's all rather simple to understand.

If you still don't believe us, just post in the Q&A forum and I'm sure Mr. Hall will be happy to clarify it.

    Cheers,
