Nice pics. I visited the Sea Islands in the early 1990s a couple of times on business. Didn't as much time to look around as I would have liked.
I checked out the old Fort Brunswick (?) and part of Bloody Marsh. That is where the British / Colonists stopped the northern advance of the Spanish. The fort still has cannon balls stuck in the outer bricks. Very interesting place.
Thanks for the memories (if a bit fuzzy on my part), M'Lord. Some day I'll go back for a real visit.

It's Fort Frederica.. And the Battle of Bloody Marsh was fought in 1742- you are right- the British forces routed the Spanish and sent 'em back down to Florida.
What you're probably thinkin' of in regards to the "cannonballs stuck in the bricks" is Fort Pulaski, outside Savannah, which got clobbered by Federal forces during the Civil War. I went up there once. It's really neat- very memorable, seeing all those shells still stuck in there.
Those shot-up walls are memorable. Obviously you visited Savannah the same time you were down this way. I can see why Ft. Pulaski would stick out in your mind.

Looks pretty much the same up here, except the trees aren't so big, there's no water, and everything is covered in white.

C'mon back, sometime.
Thanks for correcting my memories.
