PCGS' attitude toward NCS "curated" coins.

Does PCGS consider NCS curated raw coins "cleaned," or consider the treatment a diminishing factor in crossovers?

Dipping of coins is accepted by the numismatic marketplace. in fact it is probably impossible to tell if a silver coin has been very lightly dipped.

Lately we've seen a lot of proof coins with surfaces that looked overly dipped. That's not quite the right description. It's almost like the fields have been blasted or something. They look very deeply mirrored, but upon magnification, you seen hairlines, pits, etc, that appear mirrored over. This is a new look for proof coins. Somebody is doing something to a lot of proof coins and we don't really know who. This is a negative as far a grade goes, i.e. a deduction...and when harsh and obvious, it's a "no grade."

    Thanks,

    David
