1961 Golden Press

Sorry if this has been addressed before, I searched the archives and did not find it. I have the complete set of 61 Golden Press still in the book. Is it worthwhile breaking the cards out and getting them graded? The cards on the inside of the book are PRistine and the back cover are very very good. The front cover has some scuffing issues. I tried a search on ebay but found no PSA 9's for sale, what do the cards sell for in a PSA 9? How would you go about taking the cards out to get the highest grades possible? Or is it just worth keeping them in the book?

Thanks ,
Ken

My feeling is that any type of set like that which can be detached, is usually if not always worth more in its original condition - undetached. Those cards are not rare - there are a lot of those Golden Press sets around. In my opinion detaching them along with the grading costs would not be worth it.

FWIW, a set of mostly 8's with a good % of 9's sold for $500. a few months back. I passed, the next in line grabbed it.
Personally I'd rather have the book- you can always take the book and make cards, but not the other way round.
