Cross over - Upgrades?

Would PCGS evey "upgrade" a coin when submitted as a cross-over from another service?

    It happens to me a couple of times a year, usually on AU50/53 or XF40/45 coins.
    When in doubt, don't.

    Yup....I had a coin bump from AU-58 (ANACS) to MS-61 (PCGS). It's possible but doesn't happend very often.

  • Did a Show Crossover at Long Beach, had a NGC MS64RB 55DD Lincoln cross to PCGS MS64RD... unreal...

    If the coin is nice enough to possibly upgrade I always figure there is no risk in cracking it. I do have one coin however... an ngc 64rd 18-d Lincoln that seems way too good to be true. It really looks like a lock ms65 but I'm afraid pcgs won't like the color and not grade it or rb it (although it certainly seems full red).
