Lunch Meeting Update w/ HeritageGreg: Caution - Only NICE things to say :-)

All I have to say is that Greg Rohan is a man of his word. He agreed to meet with me AND offered to treat me to lunch as well. I took him up on his offer (& had one of the best charcoal bugers I've EVER had in Dallas) & am PLEASED to say that he is TRULY one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I believe he is one of the most down to earth, polite, easy going, pleasant, honest, & forthcoming people you will ever meet - either in or out of the coin world.

I genuinely regret jumping to some of the conclusions I have jumped to in the past in response to one person or anothers complaint against Heritage for one thing or another. I have NO doubt that if ANY "injustice" actually gets made it is just one of a miniscule percentage of transactions that just accidentally fall thru the cracks. I mean, we are all human & we ALL make mistakes.

I have no doubt he is a person of the highest integrity that will proactively fix any problem brought to him & I urge anyone, as he has done, to contact him if you believe his company made a mistake in a transaction with you. image

I have bought from Heritage and found nothing but top quality and the 100% professionalism. In fact I was at the Midwest Coin Expo in Chicago in May of 04' and was in one of the lot viewing rooms and was handed several expensive catalogs for free, including a copy of Eric Kreuter's #1 Roosevelt Modern Proof w/Varieties Catalog, which was AWESOME I might add! Everyone was very polite and friendly!

Frankly, I find it utterly and completely despicable that you were "treated" to a burger and not a steak!image

Glad, but not at all surprised to hear it went as described.
  • Where did you get the Burger?? Curious minds want to know.

I bet, if instead of "Lunch Meeting Update w/ HeritageGreg: Caution - Only NICE things to say :-)" the thread title had read "Lunch War Update w/ HeritageGreg: Caution - Only TERRIBLE things to say :-(" there would be a great deal more action in this threadimage

  • I have been collecting coins for over 40 years, have dealt with a lot of different dealers and auction houses, and am happy to say that in over 3 years of dealing with Heritage, I have never found them to be anything but professional, helpful and honest. How many auction houses are willing to re-photograph lots to allow better review, and be willing to have a cataloguer re-examine a coin and provide additional information promptly? While I have never had the honor of meeting Mr. Rohan, I am not surprised to hear of your experience.

I do hope that although they have grown immensely, they can continue the high level of service they historically have provided----it would be a shame to see them expand beyond their capability to remain personalized, honest and accurate and thereby sully their reputation.

Glad you had a good burger!!

One thing I can say is that I have yet to experience any of the problems with Heritage services the other forum members have experienced. Just lucky I guess or there really aren't THAT many problem transactions.

Might be a case of the old adage:

"Do a good job for someone, and you are lucky if they tell one or two people. Do a less-than-good job, and they will tell dozens of people.

Greg is a highly responsive guy. I have talke dto him numerous times and he truly wants the customer to be happy. Mistakes do happen, but I know that they took this series of mishaps very seriously and were resolute to make them go away.

RB.....I'm glad you accepted Greg's invitation ,and having shared a meal or two with Greg myself and knowing him as I do, it is not surprising at all to hear of this outcome. He is very concerned about the customer experience and has always been very proactive when an issue is brought before him.

    Glad this worked out!!

I'm glad to hear everything is turning out to your satisfaction. My question is how did you choose to have your burger cooked...medium well, rare, well done? Inquiring minds want to know.
