Got PCGS grades - Learning curve improving

I used a free submission to experiment with some submissions, In summary,

- I can't tell a cleaned Large Cent from the man in the moon.
- I can see a FS Jeff (mostly)
- I can see FB on a Roosie
- I can't see why proofs drop down to 62-64.

One interesting story though. I bought an 1906 IHC on EBay from a strange source - a sewing notions company. They bought antique buttons and found an IHC in one of the button jars. I submitted as MS and PCGS identified it as a PROOF. Nice red find.

The rest is below

  • Nice score on the proof IHC. Some of my best buys on coins are from those who are NOT coin dealers.

Can you post pics of the Large Cents and IHCs that got bagged for cleaning? I've never submitted copper to PCGS, so it would be very educational to me, and perhaps others on the forum as well.

Also, post that MS-65 toner!! image

Hey folks, I think we are missing the significance of getting a 1906 Indian on Ebay for probably not much and having it come back from PCGS as a PROOF! I need to default to my peers, but I think that deserves a "YOU SUCK" award. Can I get an n Amen?

First, we need to know what he paid for the coin.

Cornhusker - had to check the records as I only remembered that the coin was not substantially priced.

    $26 including shipping.

Will post photos of the large cents and the IHC when I get them back from PCGS.
