How come there are no coins with Dinosaurs on them?

I had a collection of about 70 different Dinosaur coins including a silver coin that weighed 1 Kilogram (I'll try to remember to post it's picture when I get home). I sold them all last year. Here's a list I compiled of all the Dinosaur Coins that I was aware existed when I was collecting them. Sorry to stray off topic for the U.S. Coin Forum. If there is interest we should continue this on the Darkside and maybe the thread can be moved there since I am not aware of any United States minted dino coins.

Here's a picture of the 1 kilo coin as promised. Mintage was 151 pieces. I also had the half kilo coin with a mintage of only 121.

There were some about 60 million years ago but they disappeared along with the dinosaurs. Seriously though, USAROK has a good list. I wish I had it when my son asked me the same question many years ago.

This is one of the things about these boards. even though this is the US forum, and even though colonialcoinunion didn't think there were coins with dinosaurs, turns out there are. I've never seen or heard of any of that stuff on the list usarok linked, pretty cool list of coins. Don't suppose you have pics you'd care to share of the collection you sold USAROK? The little kid in me that likes dinosaurs wants the rest of me to collect these now, but I'd settle for pics


xbob - i'll bet the filename changed because there was already an existing file with the same name someone had already uploaded. Just a guess, but it looks like all uploaded files get stored in the same folder, so it renamed yours instead of overwriting someone else's.
Edited to say I guess ccr already explained this but I just read that, so, I'll and not claim your work as my own.

Prehistoric Coin Grading Service will have your coins graded in 50,000,000 years.
