Is die-clash supposed to count against you in the grading of Morgans?

I recently sent a beautiful example of die-clash to PCGS that I would give a 63 any day of the week and it came back as a 62 and I'm wondering if die-clash is supposed to hurt the grade on a Morgan Dollar. Any input anyone?

Die-clashing should not affect the grade, particularly in that grade range.

The professor is right, no effect on grade. PCGS is just being hard these days.

Same answer from me: die clash should not hurt you and PCGS is being tough IMO.

  • Well, I should have the coin back next week along with a DMPL I sent them that I could see my FACE in at 2 feet. I'll post pics then, but what I don't understand is why they're being so hard on coins.
  • BTW that DMPL only graded a PL, I know it's not a 65, but it was FOR SURE a dmpl, what's up with that?
