Occasionally this happens while going through rolls looking for varieties, contamination like this creeps in:

No image adjustment, and the fields are flawless

Looks like a couple carbon spots on the upper reverse. That would keep it from MS68. Still a fabulous looking coin!

I'm hoping I find some other nice ones in this batch of rolls. I reluctantly took some 1957's cuz all the mintmarks were gone, had to have some kind of a fix. All of my PCGS 67 reds were made by accident like this, but it sure is far less frequently these days. Quite a surprise. If it's any consolation, Lee, my wife is yelling "sell it!," so she's on your side.

Well, I can't see a reverse image.

I wouldn't give any Lincoln a 68 grade out of full red with hot blazing luster. Closest an RB coin gets is 66.
