Old ANACS photo cards

VetterVetter Posts: 850 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have these old ANACS photo grading cards that came with my late fathers collection. I don't think I have the coins that go with them. Any idea what I should do with them? They are for 1972 Lincoln DDO #1, 1909-S VDB Lincoln, 1944-D/S #2 Lincoln, 1918/7-D Buffalo X2 and 1924-S Buffalo. I have never seen them before. I looked on ebay, but didn't see any.

Thanks
Tony

Stick a suitable coin in a flip, staple it to the upper left corner and run a scam. image

    Ebay'em. I'm sure they're collectible.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

  • Why don't you just keep them?

Here's one I bid on over the weekend. Coincidentally, it's for a coin your Dad had, too, a 1944-D/S Die 2. I still run across them occasionally, but I'll leave it to the forum experts on such matters to tell you if the cards alone are considered colectible or not.

Send them to Conder101. He collects them.

The one in the upper right hand corner is interesting. I don't remember that type. Can somebody fill me in on that?

  • Yes I would be interested in them. I'm kind of surprised at the variety that you have. You have 6 of the ten or eleven different certificate varieties including what looks like an ANACS 1.

Andy the one in the upper right appears to be an ANACS 1, the first certificate type issued between 4/72 and late 1975. The front just has the photos of the coin and the back usd a rubber stamp to print a "form" which ws then filled in by hand and signed by Charles Hoskins. I would really like to see that one though since it looks like it might be slightly different from the other ANACS 1's that I have seen. (For having been produce for three years the ANACS 1 is unusually scarce. I've only seen four in the past 6 years.)
  • Ouch. I remember when those were state of the art.....
