Updated again - now a new scammer for: Who wants to help give this Ebay scammer a hard time?

A "friend" of mine bid on the scammer's listing but his bid was cancelled and the seller only allows "pre-approved" bidders to bid. By the way, he is offering to sell this coin for $2650. Perhaps one of you suckers can correspond with him and agree to buy it?

I have emailed the real owner of the coin to let him know his coin is being offered by the scammer and I have emailed the scammer to let him know he's busted.

just sent him:

"Hi, I don't see a buy it now option in the auction. If I want to buy it now, do I just send you the money? Can I send it via Western Union or wire transfer?"

I believe he is violating ebay listing rules by offering to sell it outside the auction.
I believe, that's an NARU'able offense.

Another scam error is after checking the properties from his large pics you can see that they're being directed from the real sellers' site.

What makes you think it's a scam ???

He does offer a full money back guarentee
He doesn't hide behind the buyers ID is secret
All the normal red flags aren't there

So, it's the same coin put up by the snake
Maybe the snake hopes to sell the coin for $24,000 then jump on this other guys BIN and pocket a fast $20K

Maybe the guy does have kinda the same auction as the snake
Maybe he's a philanthropist and is going to eat the $20K just to make someone happy

If anyone is to bid on the coin I would think it funny if Anaconda would bid on the coin ..

I think the account has been hijacked -

A better email campaign would be to state " you just happen to be visiting Germany next week, and wonder if you could see the coin in person, because luster and eye-appeal is so hard to imagine from photos - where could you meet him and see the coin? "

I tried to email the guy to be added to the bidders list and I got this back from eBay:

Are you afraid "Scumnuker" wouldn't be approved?

The last time I hasseled a scammer, he bought all my items for sale with multiple ID's, never paid and left me negative feedback.

(eBay eventually removed the feedback because they couldn't verify the contact information)

I would personally like to thank everyone who was involved in the resolution of this situation. There are alot of great people on these boards and I am just very glad that we can count on each other to look out for one another. I will remember this when doing business with board members.

Just to say thank you to everyone here on the boards, I've decided to do something that many of you have hoped we'd do for quite some time. I think I'll give away a coin from Anaconda Rare Coins' inventory.
