  • Well ,it's the first year of issue, so yes, they do come as nice, but not very often and the price is quite attractive with the low dollar rate. I'll give it a day, to think about it.

    I'm not sure if you're addressing spinaker or me, but this one is not as rare as they say in the description and certainly overpriced, contrarily to the 1879 piastre. A nice red BU of the same date (1949) is worth $10, nothing with George VI can be really scarce.

    No that would be too much, theirs is a VIP proof,not a BU, but still way overpriced. I believe a mini hoard of them surfaced recently. Besides this same greattoning coin was on NEN's site a few months ago for much less. I think they consigned it to gt,and judging from the asking price, they probably overpaid for it.
