In my 1st thread you asked for pics. Here's my Morgan set. Pics of Key Dates added.

First let me say that many of these were collected over a 10 year period. Some of the first ones do need upgraded and were purchased when I wasn't as picky. The ones in 'backwards' are coins that I have in slabs (safe deposit box) but I'll try to add pics later. The 'backward' coins are the same grade as the key date in the slab.
My question is....Is this set below average, average, or above average. I still need the 80-cc and the 85-cc to be complete without the 95. Then I'll begin to ugrade the scrubs.
Sorry no reverses, lots of pics.

Lots of potential comments piece by piece . . . but let's just enjoy the set and relish the fact that many aspire to higher grades or more eye appeal in certain issues, but few get to the point of completion that you have here. Sure . . you can upgrade a few, but many are also nice examples for the difficulty of the issue.
Well done . . . a treat to see.

I hate it when they do that. I think I'll tape them all in.
The answer to your question, IMHO no Morgan set is average, they are all special
I usually do not like Morgans unless they are BU, but I found myself comparing the wear between images. Got me to thinking how many places the coins have been and what a wonderful story some of them could tell.
I would estimate your set is well above average for being nearly complete.
I have spent about ten years (not a focused effort just picked them up if I had the money) collecting PCGS graded MS63 or better Morgans and I have so far been able to fill 16 of the 97 needed to complete the set.
What happened to the 93-S?

I like to think of sets of coins like a team. Yes there are individual "stars" that some people gravitate toward but individuals don't win the game or championship. You have to have a good team that works together.
You have a Great "Team of Morgan's there!!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Actually, with a Dansco album, super glue on the coin edge works nicely!
Seriously though, even though I'm not into Morgan, this is a cool set, I do like the diversity of grades. Thanks for posting your pics, the OCD part of me likes to see complete sets like this.
Need more $$$ for coins?
Am I the only one noticing the green film on some of the coins? It wouldn't hurt to dip them in acetone just in case they are PVCs. I'm sensitive to this because I just had to do this to some of my coins. After dipping a number of coins the acetone turned from clear to a light green color!
Edit to add: since I'm on page #2, here's some of my early Morgans that are in my circulated set.

<< <i>Very nice. I am very jealous. Question though, Do you have them in the right spots in the album? The 1881-CC looks like an O to me and the 1894 looks like an 1894-O. Thanks for posting your set. Something to drool over. >>
Be sure to read the 1st scentence in my OP I'll get those scanned soon.
<< <i>Nice 9/5 overdate on that 85-CC >>
There's no coin in the 85-cc hole, please read the first part of the first post.
Here's the keys, ie the ones that are in the Dansco book backwards.
DNADave, very nice set! I like seeing choice "original dirt." Those coins helped build this country
