Interesting toning pattern--I cannot explain it ( image ).

Nice coin and superb photography. Any interest in relocating to Dallas?

    Yeah, very funny PM!

Seriously, this coin has been one of the most difficult coins to image that I've owned. I've had this coin for some time, before I even had a digital camera. This is the first time I've been able to get a somewhat decent image of it. The colors are accurate, it's lime green and purple on both sides. PCGS MS65.

Relocate to Dallas? Nope, but there is always registered mail!

Not for me. I do not live in Dallas, but Heritage is there. Just think, K6AZ, Director of Photography, Heritage Rare Coins...
  • Nice tone on that coin. Does it have a rainbow?

Nope, this is not a rainbow. It is polychromatic toning. A true rainbow has distinct bands of color, just like a rainbow.
  • Very interesting Morgan. And I too have zero idea how it could have developed the pretty color!image

Perhaps it was envelope toned since both sides are similarly toned...

...or perhaps a combination of album & envelope toning, since the periphery of the coin appears to also have a pretty brown band of rim toning

Stuart, that toning on the rim is violet/purple. No brown on this one, it's all lime green and purple/violet. I'm strongly considering putting it on the market since it doesn't really fit in with the rest of my toned stuff.
